Description

We've got 2 of those and they're pc-like thin-clients.

Specs

  • CPU: Cyrix MediaGX with MMX @ 233 MHz (x86 compatible)
  • RAM: 1x normal SDRAM slot (up to 128MB) and 1 SODIMM slot
  • Slot for Disk on Chip
  • Shared PCI/ISA slot (PCI tends to get in the way of RAM)
  • IDE (people reported problems with using both master and slave)

Hacking the Neostation 3000

Todo

  • Test the hardware (memtest)
  • Add some storage for OS
  • Put in some more RAM (whilst finding out if it can use both SODIMM and SD-RAM DIMM at the same time)

According to this link it supports SD-RAM DIMM up to 128MB.

  • Install a useful OS
  • Connect one to the plotter and find/write some software to plot stuff
