After a successful update of Coherence, we can now finally start looking into upgrade the ancient hardware.

Hardware Requirements

  • A way faster CPU than we have now (i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz)
  • CPU supporting VT-D (HW Pass-through would be nice)
  • Minimal 32GB ram support and more than two banks (For future expansions)
  • More than one PCI-E port free (Doesn't have to be x16 but at least one x16 would be preferable)
  • 4 SATA6 ports (More sata ports would be nice to have)
  • Low power consumption (130-100 watt peak)
  • Preferably a atx server motherboard with IPMI (such as a Supermicro)
  • USB3 would be nice to have, but can be mitigated with a USB pci-e card if needed
  • Everything fitting in one case
  • Preferably two nics (excluding IPMI) although that can also be mitigated to a pci-e nic
