Smoke detector

We've got some new smoke detector installation. It also detects CO (carbon monoxide). This so that hopefully people stop dying in the space. It should be possible to connect it to home-assistant, will look later into that.

On the back of the base-station (located on top of the infra-rack, it has a label on it with "rookmelder") there's a small button that you can press if the beeping annoys you. Please consider moving outside of the building as well when the smoke detector beeps.

Note: carbon monoxide is not visible and you cannot smell it. So if shit starts beeping and you see no smoke anywhere, still please consider leaving the premises.

In all cases, please dial '112' on your phone and inform the operator of:

  1. 1 the reason (fire, carbon monoxide ("koolstofmono-onxide alarm")
  2. 2 the location (vergersweg 22)

Then call some-one of the volkshuis and/or nurdspace board.

In case I forgot to mention it: please do the calling etc outside of the building. Really you can't do anything and even your life is more important to use than the NURDspace belongings. You're allowed to go to sit in the car if weather circumstances are prohibitive but stay close (relatively) to the space so that you can answer questions.

Bastiaan obtained a smoke detector to conform to rental requirements, but we might be able to make more out of it.

The device is little more than a logic board hooking up some simple input and output to a single chip: a BL59S10. Description is found here: externally and mirrored locally

The interesting pin is 7: I/O. Although there are no specific details the description mentions that "It can be used to connect up to 40 detectors to make auxiliary alarm, remote alarm, auto dialer..."
