We have several radio dishes and SDRs at the space, now it would be fun if we could use one of them as a radio telescope, possibly as a permanent and movable installation on the roof!?

Here are some examples of projects to build from:

My initial idea would be to create a 'drift' type of radio telescope, so that we don't have to mess with tracking.

We could aim it at the ecliptic, which is the plane the moon, sun and planets move in (the moon actually differs a bit).

Or aim it at the zenith. Hooowever in that case rain water might collect in the dish ;) (We could probably drill a few smaller than 21 cm holes, like 10 cm, in the dish to drain the water? The Hydrogen line is at 1420Mhz which is a wavelength of 21 cm. So theoretically it can't go through holes smaller than 21 cm.)
