I'm currently using a Silicon Image PCI IDE controller for programming DIP32 chips using flashrom. It would be nice to be able to use this setup for programming DIP28 chips (for instance for use as nic bootroms). It should be a fairly simple rewiring job.

Todo

It turns out a lot of DIP28 chips on VGA cards I own are of the EPROM kind, some of them aren't even windowed so no chance of erasing them using a UV eraser (which I don't have anyway). I obtained 2 DIP28 Atmel AT28C256-15PC EEPROMs for testing.
