This howto describes how to add a new member to the LDAP. This can only be done by users with sufficient rights in FusionDirectory (ie: users in group "admins").
- Log in to FusionDirectory (https://ldap.nurdspace.nl) with your LDAP credentials.
- In the left menu ("Administration") click on "Users".
- Above the users list click on "Actions" -> "Create" -> "User"
- Fill in "Last name", "First name", "Login" and any other properties you can/want to.
- Be sure to only use lower case for the login as mediawiki doesn't like caps in usernames!
- Click on the "Unix" tab
- Click on "Add Unix settings"
- Fill in "Home directory" (absolute path, so: /home/henk. This dir will be created on the NFS exported homedirs upon saving the user.)
- In the right column ("Group membership") click on "Add" and check the boxes for "members", "spacenet", "wikiusers". If applicable also check "keyholders", "sudo" or "dialout".
- Click on "Add" at the bottom of the groups list.
- Click on the tab "Samba".
- Click on "Add Samba settings".
- Do not fill in anything, just click on "Ok" at the right bottom
- It will ask you to create a password. Just make it "Changeme" or something similar. The new user will have to log in to change his/her password him-/herself via https://ldap.nurdspace.nl to ensure the NTPassword field gets set to the same value as the LDAP password. This is needed for Spacenet to work.
