We have planned a 300mm wide cable guide from room 3 into room 1, so along the full length of the Space. Further we have planned a 70mm wide guide in room 3, perpendicular to the main guide. Also for room 2 we have planned a 70mm guide parallel to the main guide on the centerline of room 2. It is connected to the main guide with the same 70mm guide planned over the second door into room 2 (the one that is permanenty closed). The guides will hang from the beams with threaded rods (M10). Fixture of the threaded rods to the beams is tbd.

Replace all ceiling material

All the soft boards need to be removed including the wood lattice.

We should have a flat roof now with the beams visible and nothing else. So you are looking directly at the inside of the roof (particle board).

The steps to install the new ceiling are as follows:

  1. Put the rolls of stone wool in between the beams. The beams are approx. 40cm apart and the rolls are 40cm wide, so it should fit. If not just wedge an extra sliver of stone wool in.
  2. Tack moisture dampening foil directly on the beams. seal it with the roll of aluminium tape, so there are no holes.
  3. Screw the lattice work/slats (Dutch: rachels) perpendicular to the beams directly on the beams. hart to hart distance between the "rachels" is 60cm. Notice that the slats will not be level in all directions, but will follow the slope of the roof, because they are attached to the beams.
  4. screw the plasterboard to the slats at a 90 degree angle. The seam of two subsequent boards in a row should not coincide with the seam in the preceding row.
